Our client is a Global Pharmaceutical company that is seeing impressive growth in a very competitive market.  They have some excellent products on the market and some exciting prospects in the pipeline.  Due to global expansion they are looking for a strategy lead for the respiratory and immunology division

Working within the Global Marketing team you will be the Disease Area Strategy Director for the Respiratory & Immunology therapy area.

This role has three critical and interdependent components:
1) Create and deliver a commercial disease area strategy for  the Immunology and Respiratory franchise that will define “the market” and “how to dominate it” to inform resource allocation decisions. 
2) Provide global leadership for the Immunology and Respiratory pipeline assets from Discovery to Phase 2. 
3) Serve as subject matter expert for Respiratory Business Development assessments.  

 Your responsibilities are

  • Actively partner with stakeholders across Divisions to develop, refine and implement the Immunology and Respiratory Commercial Disease Area Strategy
  • Lead all commercial components of an Integrated Disease Area Strategy Plan
  • Lead yearly environmental assessments to identify key factors that will inform Disease Area Strategy and  resource allocation plans
  • Support the execution of long term above-brand commercial strategies and plans that will positively affect the value of pipeline
  • Provide commercial strategic input to and serve as the point of contact with the Research Division and Development Corporation Immunology and Respiratory pipeline compounds from Discovery to Phase 2b. This includes evaluation of associated markets and indications, generating strategic options for pipeline compounds, determining commercial assumptions for valuation of development strategies provided by Clinical Development and ensure consistent and robust commercial guidance and assumptions across the Immunology / Respiratory Disease Area Partner with Global Customer, Market and Business Insights, CSMO and IP to develop and maintain a Competitive Landscape Assessment
  • Provide disease area subject matter expertise to Business Development commercial assessments as needed
  • Provide disease area subject matter expertise to Commercial and Marketing Excellence on “white space” commercial assessments as needed

The preferred candidate has / is

  • 10+ years experience in the global pharmaceutical or related healthcare industry
  • Demonstrated strategic thinking, strong analytical skills, creativity and innovative approach to problem solving
  • Ability to build strong cross-functional partnerships and external customer relationships
  • Ability to synthesize complex information and distil critical customer driven insights to develop innovative commercial Disease Area Strategies
  • Demonstrated ability for flawless execution – an ability to bring strategy and analysis to a practical level, initiate projects and drive to completion
  • Ability to rebalance priorities on a regular basis and assume responsibility in a multi-tasking in environment
  • Enthusiastic, confident and able to work independently
  • Prior experience in commercial strategy with knowledge of drug development process preferred
  • Knowledge of Respiratory is preferred
  • Ability to closely partner with CSMO and the Research and Development team
  • Evidence of cross-cultural work successes
